Capsule Map of Kingston!

From last weekend's workshop we were able to get a map going with some favorite spots in Kingston. Each of the markers on the map below indicates a spot where someone has placed a decorated capsule with directions to another location on the map. They all link up so you can jet around Kingston visiting some preferred places of local Kingston-ites. Neat-o!

View Capsule Map in a larger map

If you want to hop in on the map, feel free to decorate your own capsule at home, pick a spot and then find a partner to make a capsule of their own. Once you've both made capsules, write down directions on a slip of paper. Exchange directions and then go to your spot and place your capsule up! We're hoping to get some photographs of the different spots as well, so if you think of it, shoot as an email of your spot/capsule.

Questions, comments and the like are always welcome.

Fences//Barriers

Hello All,

Here are some photos of our latest installation on Ontario St by the Ferry Terminal in Kingston. Considering the amount of construction and development happening in the downtown core, we thought it'd be appropriate to write "There are no barriers to our progress but those we erect" on one of the empty fences. Unfortunately, it was taken down shortly after we finished and was only up for about four hours. Luckily we took some photos beforehand, which you can see below or on our facebook page.

More to come soon. Happy summers.-

The xx- Basic Space

Rad song, cool video, and seemingly appropriate title.

Stripes!

Hello again,
after a longer-than-expected break, G.G. went out on campus last night to revamp the abandoned space which known as the JDUC and the library. It's all about the stripes my friends - so check them out while they are still up!

More to come when we return from the break - Happy Holidays

Much love,
G.G

Colour Your Space (pt 2)

Colour Your Space!

Hello Friends,

GG is back from summer vacation feeling refreshed and tanned. We wanted to start off right away this year, so two nights ago we assembled to create a sidewalk paint by numbers. The idea being that passersby could fill in as much or as little of the design with the chalk we provided. Thankfully, the local crafts stores were sold out of lame 2D chalk so we were forced to upgrade to 3D chalk (for more on the wonder of 3D chalk: http://www.crayola.com/products/splash/OUTDOOR/3dchalk.cfm).

So far we've been pleasantly surprised with the response and the design is nearly filled in. To see the design and help complete it, come by the corner of Earl and Alfred St before it rains!

Here are some pictures of the progress and keep checking back for more events.

20 Questions (Minus 8)

Hello again everyone, sorry for the lack of postage but we've been busy squirrelin' with mid terms. Here are some photos from our last event in which we put up 12 signs asking people questions and included some pens for anonymous responses. Some were quite funny and we appreciate your participation! Stay tuned for the next event in March!

Much love,
GG

Just For the Record...

This is a post in reference to the balloons around campus on two separate occasions in the recent weeks. The balloons, in both cases, were used as a means of advertisement. This made us sad, and we would like to emphasize that we are in no way affiliated with these organizations. It's slightly disheartening to see what we had originally used as a means to transform the campus in a positive way, being used for the promotion of individual organizations. At the same time, we are flattered that we made an impact, and now look forward to continuing to reinvent the Queen's campus. So keep you eyes peeled!

In other news, we're on Facebook, so if you like what we do, check us out and become a fan!

Hugs and high fives,

GG

Thou Shalt Always Kill

Apologies for the radio silence over the last few weeks. Academic and familial responsibilities have been calling and we've been a bit busy! In other news, we hope you've kept your eyes peeled for our stickers around campus. We're hoping to hit the ground running when we reconvene back in Kingston in 2009 but to hold you over here's a sweet music video from a new favorite Dan LeSac. Enjoy!

Hugs and High Fives,

"We fly balloons on a fuel called..."

Check out this music video for the song "Balloons" by one of our current favs the Foals. Considering recent events, this song seems oddly appropriate...

If you like what you see/hear, hit up http://www.myspace.com/foals for more!

Happy studying,
